House AC died around noon, called Sunshine AC around 2, Jamar arrived shortly after 5, had system running in short order only to discover the unit was losing freon, a leak. The system is just over 9 years old, Goodman brand, 5 ton dual stage. We weren't anticipating this kind of news, Jamar thoroughly explained our options as to whether to put our money into repairing this unit or replacing it. Sound money says replace it.
We will be getting estimates from Sunshine AC and a couple other companies, not sure we will use a Goodman system again.

I’ve used Southern Air at a different residence in the past and was just as satisfied today, as I was a couple of years ago. Jason was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Additionally the communication that comes from their office staff is top notch. A breath of fresh air in an environment that many companies don’t respond.

Technician Justin Coates went above and beyond servicing my two AC units. I'm in Florida, one of the units is in the attic, poor guy. He was professional, knowledgeable and VERY thorough. I also like that Southern Air reminds me when service is due.
Update: today 9/15/2026, "Jamar Witt" came out, determined that the duct in the ATTIC had collapsed and replaced it. NOT an easy task in a 100+° attic in a limited space! He also replaced a weak capacitor that was still under warranty. Knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Highly recommend Southern Air. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
